The 97 storey Shard building towers over London Bridge train station, my stop for the last northern line down to the dirty south. I was especially taken with this building when in was under construction, as giant Blade Runner-esqe container lifts slid up and down the outsides. Even in completion it still looks slightly unfinished and dystopian, raking the clouds like a skyscraper should. A perfect home for a cyberpunk super-multinational; cold technical glass and steel with more than a little edge of evil lair.
