In my opinion; The Japanese born, Paris based, visual/ audio artist Ryoji Ikeda is the very paragon of cyberpunk visuals. His electronica focuses on frequencies on the edges of human hearing, accompanied by vast projected visuals of actual data. The silhouettes of humans against soulless code visualisations. If ever there was an artist that should be in the Tanks of the Tate Modern, it's Ikeda. While the slick, organic, user interface is the realm of scifi, Ikeda's cyberpunk visions get to the beautiful guts of the cryptic language that is code.
